Are iridium plugs available without resistance built in? I wonder if they have better heat range, so can run hot to keep clean, without damaging themselves? But plugs with suppresors built in are not supposed to be used with a magneto. The NGK lists I have seen all appear to have a letter R in the number.

I use Iridium plugs in my coil ign 99 , And they work very well, Unsuppressed HT systems can damage some electronics and interfere with other equipment. I would not use a suppressor on my Rudge as the mag is old and weak.Will a suppressor damage a mag that has indifferent insulation?, Good question.

I did try a set of those in my 99 Anna and they did no better than std plugs.The fine wire plugs have kept going though. I expect once I get to the bottom of the issue any of the wide range of plugs I have previously tried will work ok.My suspicion is that 3 factors are at play. An air filter (non std), slight wear in the jet and fuel additives in Esso Synergy plus designed to cleen injection systems.

Not being aware of these exclusions, I have run both my 650SS and Velo Thruxton on Denso Iridium IW22s for the last 5 years or so. The Norton has Boyer ignition, the Velo K1F Magneto. Both have been completely faultless.
