How do you fill oil into your gearboxes? What kind of funnel or bottle do you use?
I never have found any practical solution to this problem. There are a lot of vertical holes on different machinery. Also horizontal holes with other parts above. At present, I have same problem not only on Nortons but on Vincents, 2-stroke Suzukis, a wheel loader and a mini excavator.

Gear oil bottles....
Gear oil (and ATF) often comes in 1 litre squeezy bottles with a plastic extension tube which might fit?

Stupid me, asked first and then went to the workshop. Found that the Motul oil bottle, recommended for my TTI gearbox in the Manx, was what you described and worked perfectly.

make your own funnel out of a plastic bottle
I cut funnels out of plastic bottles which have an integral handle, such as milk bottles. If you cut carefully you can make a catcher for poured oil and a horizontal pourer to get the oil inside the box. A pair of scissors or sharp knife will do the cutting

ATF OILS
Hello Please Do Not Use ATF oil in the clutch or gearbox Why One May say Well for one The ATF oil in the Clutch destroys the internal clutch rubbers and the additives in ATF Attacks Bronze or Brass sleeve bearings by dissolving them over time, do use Castrol Hypoly 80 with no additives and for Clutch oil LUCAS TRANSMISSION OIL W20 As used for Harley Davidson early motorcycles

The only way I've found to top-up a 'dolls head' box is with a Wesco oil can. I think that's why they were in the WD model toolkits.
