Jubilee wheel rims.

Forums

Hi.

Does anyone recommend a good place for wheel rims and spokes for my Jubilee.

I was thinking of using stainless  rims and spokes.

Any recommendations much appreciated.

Thanks

 Kevin.

Hi Kevin, I've just had my Navigator front wheel rebuilt by Dave Massam Motorcycles at Colyton in Devon (01297 552396) using a CWC stainless steel rim and spokes from Central Wheels in Birmingham, the quality and finish is superb and almost indistinguishable from chrome - with the advantage that it wont rust!   Their comprehensive website is www.central-wheel.co.uk but best to give them a call on 01675462264 for expert advice before ordering.   Dave's service was friendly and quick and his workmanship superb and very reasonably priced - just over £200 all in including fitting the new tyre I supplied.   Plan ahead because Central Wheels (who seem to supply many other wheel builders) have a 4 week lead time on rims because they have to drill/punch the spoke holes to order.    Good luck with the rebuild.

I can recommend Dave too, he does a lot of my work. I’ve also used JEK in Chard, Ed is another. excellent wheel builder.  And Doug in South Molton.  Spoiled for choice really! Oh and there’s Devon Rims!

Thank you both for the advice, there  is a lot of choice out there, I know one that I would not use.

But that"s great you guys have both recommended quite a few there for me.

Is it me or does the chrome not  so good these days.

I had 2 chrome  rims supplied  25 years ago , from different sources. 1 has survived well with no issues. The other has rusted inside and out and caused a puncture. Quality does matter. I will try to ID the suppliers .The good one has a brit flag on it Devon chrome?.
