im refilling the primary chain case with fresh oil , the manual that
i own , shows that the refill amount is 200 cc or 1/3 pint , to me
that doesnt seem like enough oil , as the case has enough room
for alot more.

My books tell me that…
My books tell me that Jubilee & Navigator take 1/3 of a pint (0.2litres) of oil in the Primary chaincase.
The Electra, with its wider chaincase, takes 1/2 pint (0.28litres).
In both cases, as Nick says, there is a level screw to help you.

Hi Todd, your manual is correct, the primary chain case takes 190cc or 1/3rd pint of oil - there is a small level screw below the filling plug to help guide you. It is enough for the lower run of the chain to be running in the oil, keeping it, the sprokets and clutch sufficiently lubricated. From experience if you over fill it the oil seal behind the clutch will quickly fail (requiring a full primary side strip down to replace) and the clutch will tend to both slip and drag! Hope that helps.
