Hi Steve,
The foam is specially cut to shape to match the seat base etc. Maybe you have something else in mind but I would suggest it's best to get a new seat foam from the same supplier as your seat cover. That way everything should in theory all match up when you put the seat back together.
I have measured the seat on my standard Navigator and I reckon the seat foam is around 3 inches thick but that's measured with the seat cover fitted in position. I got both foam and seat cover from Leighton's years ago and they did fit the base pretty good.

Hello Patrick I fear mine is crumbling as well. I have a new cover and useable base--the spares scheme seems to have run out of the foam bit--any suggestions anyone?

I spoke to Leightons this morning on the phone. They definitely can do the seat foam.
Neil Shoosmith and Ian Somerville are looked into the re-manufacture of the seat bases - particularly for the De Luxe. I expect they will have some definite news on this shortly

Thanks Patrick--I have just ordered a foam base (and found out my e-bay seat cover may not fit it--we shall see).
Thanks for that

Hello Uli,
I have ordered the foam and am now hoping the seat cover I have already bought will fit. I have just spoken to the DVLA who sent me to the GOV website.
I have downloaded the form V888. I am at work and cannot get into my e-mails but when I return tonight I'll send the form over.
We'd better say that I want to know so we can use my address.
Have you tried the clubs librarian I am new to the NOC but I belong to others and they are usually pretty good.
Anyway--I'll be in touch

Hi Uli,
I have seen that seat on Ebay. Price asked is totally silly. Lightweights in full road legal order don't fetch anything like the cost being asked on Ebay for dodgy spare parts.
There are two different versions of the De Luxe seat. The original seat was only fitted to the Jubilee from first production in 1959 and this later version was fitted to both Jubilee and Navigator from about October 1960 on. I have a good Navigator De Luxe seat -NOC spares are investigating the possibility of re-making the seat base for the early De Luxe.
Patrick.
