Most of them are cycle thread, buy a mixed bag, that's what I did!

Depends what nuts you mean. Many are 3/8 cycle Nyloc nuts on the end of 3/8 diameter through studs. Some would argue that the footrest bar, the centrestand and the swinging arm spindles all hold the frame together. These are quite large nuts and if you buy a mixed bag of stainless cycle nuts, you may be sadly disappointed and amazed at the quantity in your assorted bag that you have no use for.

You'll even find some of the bigger nuts are not cycle thread.

A thread guage is a useful and cheap tool to help you identify thread types.

Depends what you buy! I have ones for BSW, BSF, BSC, BA, UNF, UNC and Metric, that mostly covers it!

Yes, the thread gauges you have seen will be fine. The thread forms on imperial guages will be marked in TPI, or threads per inc.

These cover every British/American thread system. Cycle, BSW, UNC, UNF, BSP, BA, and others I haven't remembered.

The metric thread guages will be marked in thread pitch, in mm. 0.5. 0.75, 1.0, etc. These cover all metric thread systems such as metric coarse, meteric fine, and others.

A really useful measuring tool to have when restoring a post war bike. The UK was desperately trying to avoid the dreadful spanner/thread mixups in battle situations with mixed UK/US military equipment.

You have to be careful on the Imperial thread types. Although the pitch might be the same between various types, the thread form can be different. Some will interchange, some will not.
