Electra centre stand

Forums

My centre stand hangs down from the stop by approx' 5/8", and touches the road at a very slight lean. Have I fitted it incorrectly? The 'C' shaped hanger bracket is pointing down to the stop. Any advice would be welcome.

I had this problem and assuming you have the right spring I put it down to wear in the stand, both where the spring attaches and in the pivot. I shortened the spring a tad and re tempered it.

Thanks for the reply Dan. The spring is new. The stand hinge bushes have been renewed so there is hardly any slack. I would have thought that if the spring is shortened you would not be able to get the stand up without breaking the spring. As it is the spring has to stretch a long way.

Hello Dan. I took your advice and shortened the spring by two coils. I also allowed the anchor plate to swivel, and moved the stand stop to the offside. This allows the stand to work nicely! Job done.
