Jubilee exhaust to cylinder head fitment

Forums

Can someone please explain how the exhaust downpipe pipe is secured to the cylinder head on a Jubilee?

I bought the bike in bits so I may be missing some parts. I can see no clamping ring on the exhaust header or manifold studs on the head, unlike other bikes I own, I just see a smooth port in the head and a downpipe that looks like a push fit in the head.

Surely there is something more to hold the exhaust in the head?

If not, is there a support bracket for the downpipe from the frame?

Is there any kind of gasket between the downpipe and the head?

Hello Dennis, I asked the same question some time ago when starting my own jubilee project, I bought a new pair of exhausts and when fitted the front pipe isn't in the cylinder fully, as far as I know they are just pushed in and the fitting bracket as the foot pegs and once the cylinder is fitted it holds them in. I have rebought a mint second hand pair of front pipes that I might have rechromed as the originals are a touch longer at the heads.

cheers Kelvin.

Yep just a push fit, held tight by the footrest nut , you could use high temp silicone if you want ( like permatex)
