Hello all!

Does anybody know the thread size of the Navigator rear petrol tank securing bolt

No. A2/277?

The thread in the frame bracket is shot and I cannot secure the tank properly. So a helicoil insert is in need.

Hi Uli,

I had a look at my lightweights this morning but none of them have the correct original 'shouldered' stud. The size is 5/16th; two of them have a BSF thread,one has a Whitworth thread. The BSF thread is possibly correct as this is on the De Luxe where the mounting is part of the underseat toolbox. The Whitworth thread is on the Standard and is also certainly not original. 5/16" Cycle thread is also a possibility.

Or you could use 8mm ? and no-one would know.

Thanks Patrick!

I will look for a suitable nut an have it welded underneath the tank bracket.

Easier than to look for a helicoil insert.
