It could be a bereavement sale but a list of different motorcycles or cars with one seller could be a scammer. If you copy the item description and stick that into google you can get the previous sale, normally some months before and in a different part of the country but same pics and description at double the price. On Craigslist there is a lot of items low priced in Aberdeen, all are listed at an address of Marks and Spencers. Been 1 year on their and they still get repeated, a 100% scam.

Well I contacted him about…
Well I contacted him about it. He said he wanted 1800. I told him it was advertised at 3k and was worth at least that.
He was not interested. As I use a tablet eBay will not permit a bid so I could not do so. Again he was not bothered nor did he offer to sell at 3k.
today I notice the Norton has gone,as have other vehicles. I think it is just a means to provoke interest and offers not through eBay.
It matters not as it has sold..allegedly!

These are usually scammers. The usual story is they have several imminent viewings arranged and you are back of the queue. The scammer offers to secure it for you with a deposit by bank transfer and he/she will cancel the other viewings. I've spent my working life investigating these, sadly little success. I think the clue is he couldn't even remember what he'd advertised it for. Paul.

Paul
i do not think it was anything like that.He did not offer to sell to me,nor to hold it. Just bidding me goodnight!
I believe the only scam is using eBay as the medium to gain interest and see independent of it and to who he decided to release a vehicle.
He did say he was out of touch with prices and would tweak some but that was not true as in other ads he indicated he knew the values.
He is also allegedly selling the rarer machines in a H@H auction, maybe Stafford?

Hi John, I have no intenti…
Hi John,
I have no intention of causing anyone offence and simply say these are usually scammers who never encourage you to buy, they allow you to make the offer to secure it. They usually have numerous items listed and make a very convincing smooth story and this is a beautifully practiced and rehearsed patter. Several appear on ebay each week using photo's from previous listings usually not giving a precise location, some do, usually just stating UK. They will happily give you an address where you can view if you wish but as I said you're back of the queue and that puts you under pressure to offer the deposit to secure. This may be another scheme you've uncovered I don't know. As I said no offence to anyone just wouldn't want a fellow member to get caught out, take it or leave it. Paul.

This was definitely a scam…
This was definitely a scam, if it looks too good to be true it usually is. When I see something like this I check what else the seller has for sale, usually a large number of other vehicles from tractors to diggers at stupidly low prices. I always report these scammers to ebay and within a few days all the listings have gone.
