Re: Rigid Front fork damper Handle and shaft

I now have an extremely ancient looking Norton Rigid front fork damper rod and handle, lovely to touch in a tactile way; with a huge circular knob and holes cast in the mould, what where they for?

I wondered if this can be fitted with some modifications to other parts to become a frictional steering damper for my featherbed Norton Imp build has anyone done this kind of thing previously?

Cheers

It looks like a steering damper rod to me John. But itâs seen a bit of serviceð?. Top nut looks well chewed also. The damper components sit at the underside of the headstock on the FB I would look through the parts book to identify the items you need. I can go through the book if you havenât got one.

Cheers

Jon
