Norton Oil Pumps

The part numbers from my parts listing for 1961-1962 models are as follows:

for 88-99 pn 15522

for 650 pn 23111

for all singles pn 15521

What the differences are between the models, I do not know.

I would guess that the necessary flow rate for the twins would be greater than for the singles.

The later pump would flow more oil and that can give problems. Might work with the orriginal 3 start gears. Extra flow could give problems with mag as the pressure relief valve works harder.

Later pumps flow more due to having wider gears on the feed side as well as six start worm drive as i understand it. This may or may not affect the overall width of the pump i am not sure but its worth finding out. The mk3 Commando pump has a different seal boss on the outlet to the earlier type also for a wider seal that is used which would need to be changed.

Single-cylinder pumps are 'handed' differently. You can completely ignore them from the point of view of usage in twins.
