V6 engine concept

Hello all I have been thinking Of a V six based on the bore and stroke of the Jubilee 60x44 which will make a nice 750V six, with 4 valves per cylinder DOHC Geared valve train with a bolt on gearbox made from aircraft grade alloy bullet machinedcases horizontally split cylinderblocks made form the same alloys CNC machined and wet liners fitted and oil cooled with a built-up crankshaft something like the 961 has, it would be light and compacted less than 18 inches across, and power output around 120 bhp then fitted into my designed spine frame made from chromoly alloy I have no designs on paper all my designs are in my brainbox I can see them in my mind every componant and diamentions and the mathmatics of it all , but there is one hitch lack of cash to build it so it will stay were it is, just like to share my thoughts with you, yours anna j

Hello How do you mean it's Scary there is nothing wrong with designing in your head thats where the secrets are kept engineers for years have done theirdesign in the head and have a previewof them in their minds and can see every nut and bolts and where there to be situated and they do mental-arithmetics to and the final design we can do all this in our mind without the use of paper you use forward imagination and visualisation of a subject just like you do mathematics, I do have a diffrent blood type to most O RH Negative its the giver of life as this blood type can be given to anyone where as we can only have our own blood type back its said by sientists to be blood not of this earth as it dose not conform to nature A bit like me do not conform to anything well have fun yours anna j

Never mind mate, if your V6 is a flight of fancy, let it stay that way! You have to finish repairing that real Norton of yours first, then you can dream of V6 prototypes and spine frames!

As for O rhesus negative, i leave that to the monkeys to work out!

well thank for your support but for now its on the back burner on my mind but I am looking to do something farther later after I do some researchand pricing on metals and parts castings but I may be able to do my own castings after making a small Furness from an old Calor gasbottle and firebrick it inside and I can make my own drag boxes doing the CAD design work with being the first task as I need a three D Cad Designpack for my computer, as for alloy billet aircraft grade can be bought from Ebay as can some of the other motorcycle parts that can be utilized its not in the bounds of an impossabliy with in time someone thing on the same line as me latest compact v6 engine how would you like this engine in your norton V6 yours anna j

The jubilee is over square so it would be high reving ( by norton standards anyway!) one thing we do have in common Anna, our blood group!

I'm sorry to rain on your parade Anna, but it has already been done. The Horex VR6 has followed the current trend of more cubes, so it is 1200cc, but it is a dohc V6 motorcycle which is already in existence.

TBH a 750 V6 is massively over complicated for a meagre 120bhp output, when current across the frame 4's are turning out 140bhp from 600cc. The Horex produces around 170bhp, more in line with current superbikes, but in a street bike configuration.

I cannot see a market for your idea, although I like your thinkng!.

Now if you were to add 2 more cylinders and make it 1000cc transverse V8, there's a thought!!

Just screw two Triumph Street Triple engines together 76 X 49mm 108 BHP each nought to casualty in about 10 seconds by my reckoning. Jeez, one of those is fast enough to get me in serious trouble. My Commando used to make me smile. The top of my head unhinged on the ST

hello Dan well I was basing the bore andstroke on the Jubilee 60x44 small and compact engine with high revs at 125cc per cylinder you will get a 750 but if anyone can make a v4 out of twojubilee motor you have a good 500 v 4 with over 46 bhp or a v4 navigator 700 with 80 bhp with good engineeringtooling you can make what you like, look at Allen Millard he made a 1500 v12 from two Kawasakisixes the possibilityare endless you can buy aircraft billetalloy from eBay and most othemetals matreils and if your the same blood group as me you have a good IQ and extra sences and with some hard practis you can be telipathic and read minds and you have a low blood pressuer and blue eyes blond or red hairI was a blond bomshell when I was in my teens and had bright blue eyes now I old and decrepid at 64 only 18 months to my pention and do not feel like retiring I like to keep going untill I drop and cart me off to boneyard and I have never felt I am alone even when I am 99% of the time I feel man on this planet as never been alone ET is whatching us all 5 million ufo sitings cannot be wrong even very credible men have witnested this now I am off topic but this is a forum after all and people are just as important as there machines yours anna j

helloyes, I would love a VR6 Horex but there £22k if you can get your hand on one and you have to Germanyto buy one, but a great motorcycle, all the same, the best 600 today is the Triumph tt600 and Honda cbr600 in my book but I do really like the CB1100EX very much best motorcycle Honda made to date, you could ride this around the world with no bother, a very nice long distance road bike, as you need to ride without any aches and pains as this makes you uncumfortuble and wares you down very easy witch you do not want, and a sports bike is not that cumfortuble on a long run and not to good at my age that why I like my Norton manxman its nice a cumfortuble to ride, yours anna j

Put two Hillman Imps engines together and U can have a V8!

Over square bore either 68 x 60.37; 70 x 60.37 72.5 x 60.37 and more.......ad infinitum, well not really but......

Hello Anna,

V4s and V6s are so old fashioned !; they remind me of 1960's Ford Transits. Could you manage a V12 ? Maybe a V16. Say with two twin scroll turbochargers, double VANOS with variable valve lift and a 16 speed auto gearbox. That would breathe a bit of performance into the Jubilee.! Ferrari say they are sticking with the naturally aspirated V12s for another couple of years but they see future engines as hybrid/electric so very disappointing.

Hello, Patrick wile I vote on green technology we alreadyhave some very advanced technology so advanced it would blow your mind, like symbiotic interaction with your vehicle, in layman's terms all you need to do it think about were you need to go and concentrate on this and your vehiclewill take you there and it will be powered by free energy, having said this where now going to get members telling me about physics well to update you all on this subject physics is now been overtaken by nanophysics witch now can explain the free energy phyicis and how it all works and yes the V configeration have been about since the internal combustion engine was invented and even todays Norton Motorcycles are exploting this configeration with there V4 1200 so what new, not much in old technology like what been made today or what were all own and riding , and yes the V6 is like your Transit van but they where very good engines and proved to be very tough to beat, but there has not been Small compact V6s Like what I am proposing using the 125cc configeration then timeing it by 6 and you have a small compact V6 750cc motor that packs a puch and can be made to run well with Euro type 6 as this a small bore and stroke and should run greener and fitted into a freatherbed type spin frame and modern runnig gear should do well as then you can keep the weight down and a low center of gravity to make it handles well and stick to the road like glue, and even on corners at a 100mph or over, and a 750cc machnie we can all enjoy also then you can go a bit bigger with using the 150cc per cylnider time by six and you have a V6 900cc buy using common parts the Burt Hopwood modular parts configeration this is the engineers why of keeping costs down to a minum witch is only a good thing in business, and to conform to the EU anti-tampering you could then use your own fasting system like the Y drive fasteners making construsion of a vehiche even more cost efective, yours anna j

How about an 18 cylinder triple crank forced induction 2 stroke? Oh dam, somebody beat us to it and made them in the '60s, I guess it's too old fashioned now.

Barry... What a laugh on a wet day! Total hogwash from start to finish! I hope I don't really have to point out to Anna that he fails to mention the energy given off as light and heat. This is drawn from the battery and lost from the system, so it runs it down no matter how cleverly the circuit is put together. But it is sad that this kind of balderdash is not only published but actually believed.

The final circuits are of course deliberately drawn in an attempt to show the cleverness of the inventor. We the reader cannot really follow it, can we? So he must be so clever that he cannot be wrong, and cannot tell lies! Wrong on both counts of course!

The perpetual motion machine has been illustrated innumerable times down the centuries but never demonstrated simply because the Laws of Thermodynamics do not allow it to exist.

I look forward to Anna's electric bike which will run forever on four ' AA' batteries!

Ah, good old Tesla - I'm not knocking his work on electrickery, but lets look at some other aspects of the man behind the science...

Fixated on the number 3, creator of a 'death ray' (oh, surprise, the US military lost his notes), &rather more worrying, let's notforget his support for Eugenics (a pseudo'science'at the root of some really unpleasant 20th Century activities).

The bit I really like is thathe's the chap who was in love with a pigeon:

hello, you're not getting what I was on with small cylinders produce less CO2 and spreadthe power band so they will be a cleanerrunningengine and better power output than any single or twin or v4 for that matter but al you guys can do is make jokes sorry I put this on here just ignore me, like you lot often do,your anna J

Here is an interesting article about optimum engine cylinder dimensions.

It looks like James Lansdown Norton was pretty near spot on with his earliest engne designs. Hooray! We need 500 undersquare singles (or double them for 1000cc twins...etc).

Only racers working within a formula need maximum power from a particular capacity. Practical road vehicles need maximum power for given amount of fuel. I'd contend that racing has in this sense not done road users any favours.

So let's have that 3 litreV6. But not for most of us....

I'd argue that he was an alchemist first (&one of the last), researching natural & material sciences, interested in sacred geometry (Temple of Solomon), Biblical studies, etc. Modern sciences stems from alchemy &the search for chimeras such as the Philosopher's Stone; as an alchemist he would not have been considered a fool by his peers & I wouldn't consider him to be one either.

It was formulated by many that around a 160cc displacement sized cylinders were the optimum size, multiply by 4 around about 640cc and you have a most efficient multi with extra-ordinary high power output, all other things being correct and equal!

By chance yesterday (23/01) driving back from Derby I caught 'Great Lives' on Radio 4, subject for the program was Mr Tesla, so if anybody is interested it'll be on the BBC site Radio iPlayer for a while.

It will be very amusingif it's Newton next week :)

Hello He did not make the death ray he only designed it and patented it and then sent the patents to his own country and Englandand Canada the USA, and Russia but he never killed anyone or anything but Edsondid many dogs cats horse and an elephant and one madman killer in the electric chair which was an Edson invention in the AC -DC wars of the 1890s but Tesla won he showed an audienceof top elites businessmen and bankers he put a 1 million volts through a 1.1/2 bar of steel and it melted , then his assitant removed what was left , and he had the currant switch back on and then he put his hands on each brass ball end and 1 million volts run though his body without killing him as he always wore cork sole shoes, he would never let anyone else do what he did see on you tube the Tesla Story yours anna j
