I'm looking for a clutch lever for my 1952 ES2 with lay-down box - I need one with 1 1/16" pivot centres and a plain blade. I can find thousands with ball ends, and a similar number with 7/8" pivot centre (which I need for the front brake) But the ones I want? Almost unobtainable apart from original Doherties at exorbitant prices.
Any (cheap) suggestions?

I know that bal- ended levers are out of period for your bike, but I advise you to fit them. They are to prevent people getting stabbed by the lever blades. In the mid '50s, there was a spate of rider deaths caused by this, particularly in scrambles. I know of someone killed in this way, he was a very good scrambles rider, an extremely popular man who died totally needlessly.
Please, fit ball-end levers

I think it highly unlikely that anybody's going to be stabbed by mine when riding on the road. Of course if I was building a competition bike I'd fit ball ends.
I did see the feked ones and may try them if all else fails.

Ian,
Check the NOC Shop for the 7/8" lever (£10). Check how they fix to the handlebars i.e. whether you want horizontal or vertical split for the clamp.
If you want to use your bike regularly then beware the cheap levers are made from poor quality metal and wear occurs on the pivot bolt and in the actual casting. This affects the leverage and can make for a very heavy clutch action.
If you've got access to some machinery it would be worth drilling out the lever body and inserting a brass bush to stop this wear.

Feked.com have them. Only seem to sell pairs but maybe if you asked they'd sell you different pivot centre for clutch & brake?
