Is it possible to fit a Commando cush drive rear wheel in a Dominator? Is it a good idea?
I just happen to have all the parts.

I can't see any reason why not except that as you said wheel, rather than hub, you would have to re-spoke it to remove the 3/8" offset on the Commando wheel, the Featherbed rear wheel has the centreline of the rim dead centre of the spoke flanges.

I have done this with lots of f/beds with belt drives as theres no cush in the tranny.

Made an instant significant beneficial improvement to my diaphragm clutch, belt-drive dommy. I reckon that Isolastic concealed this problem from Commando riders (but not from their gearboxes) in 1971 Commandos.

I have fitted the earlier type Commando cush drive hub,into my Dominator cafe racer, as it has a belt drive. This clutch is the Commando type clutch with out a shock absorber center, so i bought the earlier Commando hub, had it built into a wheel, bought all the other parts and put into my featherbed frame.
