Hi, I am a newcomer in NOC from Italy.
My name is Fabrizio and my job is motorcyles mechaninc & restorer. I've just bought a "strange" Commando whose former owner told me was raced for some season in CRMC events since 2000. The bike, that you can see in a page of a magazine which speak about it, has a Combat highly tuned engine (special cam, high C:R pistons, flowed head, twin 36 Mikunis, leftside "S" upswept peashooters, alloy rims) and still wer the CRMC stickers.
His frame number is 230652 and the Italian documents say that is a 1973 model but I think some parts are one of two years earlier.
The front disc caliper is the smaller racing AP Lockeed, while the rear alloy rim has an more protunded central flange. The bike is faster a lot as a standard Commando also if starting it isn't so easy.
The paint is white tank and numner plates and red half fairing and seat tail, all these parts seem to be original Norvil items, but I think to respray it on all Canary Yellow if this bike in not so famous as his previous owner claims.
I like to stay in contact with other Commando owners and (maybe) find some infos about my bike.
Best regards
Fabrizio Di Bella-Esine ITALY

Hello, I've just finished…
Hello,
I've just finished the restoration of my Commando but sill trying to find information about its racing history.
Tis bike is fitted with all the period correct factory upgradings: Quaife 5 -speed gearbox, Koni shocka, AP racing caliper, Boyer Brandsen Ignition, high CR pistons, special camshaft and a later pair of Amal MKII 36 mm.
Starting is not easy at all but run really quick!
I love it, so like to know more about its origins.
Look at its picture.
Cheers
Fabrizio

Hi Keith,
thanks for your kind advice but nobody helped me with useful notices since today.
I daily drive my Commando PRand it's really fun,
I 've bought another one (a Roadster) but maybe I will sale it to a friends of mine who askme hard, also because isn't original (single Mikuni conversion, alloy rims, bump seat tail, Norvil big discwith modern caliper and so on).
I've just contacted the NOC people in charge for Commando records trying to find more details about and hope they will reply me.
Waiting it....I run every weekend also if it's becaming cold !
Ciao
Fabrizio

Hello mates,
I hope you'll enjoy this short video in which a local channel speaks also about my Norton Commando, exhibited with great success in a Bikes Exhibition , last October 17-18th.

I explained to that nice girls, the history of my bike and said I like to preserve it in original conditions.
Our bikes took the 1.st place in the Best Motorcycle Contest, in the Classic class.
Good night
Fabrizio

Try www.accessnorton.com as there are a couple of UK owners on there who race Commandos and Seeley Commandos. They may recognise it.
