Has anyone fitted one of these?
It looks well made.
My question is regarding making an oil tight seal between the Female 1/4 BSP from the oil tap to the Male of the 1/4BSP Hosetail. Both have flat mating faces which I do not trust to seal.
There is too much thread for the hosetail to sit snugly on a dowty seal.
Before I take a hacksaw to the male thread, what do you think?

Oil tap
Hi Tim
I have fitted one of the taps from kingpin to my Venom, and am very pleased with it. My Venom is a very late 1969, and has coil ignition, so this tap is perfect. I never had any trouble sealing the threads, and only used PTFE tape, and it worked very well, remember the feed to the pump is only 'gravity' anyway.
Surprisingly even though the Venom had the non return valve, it used to (over a month or so) still wet sump occasionally. My 1960 M50 never does!

Hi. I've got one fitted to my Dommi 99. I got the one that can be screwed into the oil tank. It's an excellent bit of kit. The only slightly weakness ( if you can call it that) is that the wiring block has very small screws - the wiring would feel a lot more secure if they were larger.

Hmm yes I'd say the wires have to be well supported and tied to something close to the terminals.

Clean the threads with 1/4 BSPF x 19TPI Parallel tap and die. Sorted
