Horn for 12 volt Jubilee

Forums

Whats the correct horn for a 12 volt Jubilee, or very nearest. I want it to fit into the Deluxe fork apron.

Thanks

If it helps John I found my original 6v horn works fine on 12v although it is mighty noisy and rather strident which in modern traffic is no bad thing!   I have decided that given the short period of time I ever use it for it hasn't showing any sign of distress and the cost of attractive horns is frankly ridiculous and many just don't look right.   If it ever does burn out I will source a 12v replacement then.  Good luck!

I dont have a horn at the moment, I will buy a 12 volt.

What I need to know what type and size will fit within the forks apron.

Thanks

John.

Sorry John, I can't help then, mine is a 1964 Standard Navigator so a different design from the Jub' with the earlier fork apron.   Good luck.

Hello John,

The original horn was a 6V Lucas and as far as I know unobtainable except at an autojumble.  There should be plenty of small size chrome 12V horns new at the autojumbles.  You just have to make a bracket to fit. The one on the Yamton (which has the Jubilee De Luxe fork panel) is 70mm diameter and is some unknown Chinese make.

John,

I used a Lucas 6H horn, painted it dove gray and fitted it to the right hand side off the front frame member on my 12 V Navigator.
