Have a oil leak from behind the clutch cage. Do I need any special tools to remove the cage.

You may also need a clutch…
You may also need a clutch removal tool, basically a clutch plate with a handle, to remove the clutch retaining nut. I bought one off eBay from Nookie's Nuts for £8:50. You might get away with jamming the primary chain against the clutch sprocket using a brass bar to loosen the nut but a clutch tool is better. Don't lose the primary sprocket woodruff key! NOC sells them if you do.

You can make one in a couple of minutes using an old clutch plate. Costs nothing.

The tool I have looks like…
The tool I have looks like a clutch plate but it has tangs that fit both the outside of the clutch basket and the inner hub effectively locking one to another. It is the best tool for the price I have seen and leaves your hands free to loosen the centre nut. There are a lot of more expensive ones out there that require you to hold a handle.

I evcentually found that my leak from behind the clutch was actually coming from the crank seal, it was over filling the chain case and finding itâs way out of the tiny breather hole at the top. I ended up changing the sleeve gear seal, clutch seal and crankcase seals, all available from the club but buy a couple as itâs easy to damage them fitting them!

You can only remove the clutch cage together with the primary chain and the crankcase sprocket . You need an extractor for the sprocket.
