Looking for a small Powder Coater in Hampshire.

Hi. Does anybody know of a small Powder Coater in Hampshire. By small I mean a one man band. There are plenty of industrial size places around but they take about a month and they want to hold onto the bits till they are ready. Due to the difficulty and expense of some of the chassis bits I get a bit stressed when my little parts are in someones cluttered warehouse for a few weeks. It is not unknown for bits to "go missing".

So, I nice small place who are prepared to phone me when they are ready to do my bits would make the process more relaxing.

Cheers. Mick.

Hi Mick

Again not Hampshire but not too far away from you is Microblast in Windsor www.microblastservices.co.uk/motorcycle-services I have used them several times, and they are a small co. If you pre-arrange it they will do stuff while you wait. I tend to drop the stuff I want done in the morning, and go for a walk and lunch in Windsor, then pick the stuff up in the afternoon. Highly recommended.

Anyone know of anyone in the Stockport area that can grit blast my Jubilee Deluxe tank, side panels and bits. I can spray them myself.

As Michael says, a nice small place that wont loose my bits.

Thanks

John

Both have come back and said, because there is some filler, they can't do them. I'm a little confused because the place I have been using up till now have Powder Coated some bits with filler in them. I wonder how they overcame the problem? I've decided dealing with tradesmen is too much hassle so am going to have ago with aerosol spray cans. I'm not after a "show" finish and it might actually be fun. RS paints have been very helpful with advice. Thanks for the interest shown. Cheers. Mick.

Hi Mick

'because there is some filler, they can't do them.'

I think you will find that some fillers will react badly to the heat needed to bake the powder coat. The coaters may be reluctant to hand it back to you with holes where the filler was and you may be reluctant to pay for it like that.

Tony
