My headlight switch does not have any of the component's circled in red yet my electrics work. Is my switch broken/incorrect and should i replace it?

The two 'levers' connect pin 1 and pin 7, Some times. ie depends in what position your headlight switch is in. BUT they are only used on Alternator machines. 1954 is dynamo. On Alternator machines this extra mechanism brings in the G/Y(high output) when the head light is on to keep the battery on charge.
So now you know.
