I have just learnt that Les Archer passed away today at his home in Calpe, Spain. Sad news, for those that don’t know he was probably the most successful Scrambles rider on a Norton.
I didn’t know he lived in Calpe, my father retired there too, had I known I might have tried to find him

As many of you will know, Les raced in the TT, the ISDT and the Motocross Des Nations, and went on to win the 1956 European Motocross Championship. His cousin Peter has asked me to say that there will be a memorial service for Les - probably in January - in the Aldershot, Hampshire area. Details to follow. Les Archer 1929-2019 RIP.

That is sad news; I read of him recently while researching a “motocross” Norton in France.
