Hi , as part of them gearbox renovation i decided to replace the sleeve gear bushes ( even though they seemed ok ) - bought 2 new ones but when i made a start on changing them i found 3 bushes in the sleeve gear , outer 2 same length as new ones which i have got out , middle one looks similar , have left it where it is for now . Does anyone know if this a later modification or popular fix ?
Factory mod was to increase…

Commando Gearbox
At some point in time the two bushes inside the Commando gearboxes were lengthened. These two bushes were now equal to the length of three of the previous ones. I believe that the RGM gearbox service kit now contains the longer bushes and are a recommended mod for all AMC boxes.

Factory mod was to increase the bushes from 2 to 3 covered by bulletin, with 2 they wandered and ended up in the wrong place, adding an extra stopped the wandering. Stick with 3.
