You could be right Ian, too long ago, I'm surprised that the paint tins are still ok after 30 years in damp shed . must be good stuff , one ! coat on tank has resisted ethanol and still looks ok.after all this time. Should be 3 coats .Paint brushes clean well with Wickes water soluble brush cleaner .

... your shelf life but the tim of Paragon black I bought 6 years ago for my ES2 still works very well for touch-up purposes although is too thick for anything more extensive.
As an aside I find Paragon much better than the old standby Tekaloid which I think has changed its formulation over the years. The last lot of Tekaloid I bought didn't perform well at all.

If it helps to identify the paint I have ,the shop sold me some retarder additive for the paint and it is an ICIAutocolour hi gloss 6 383 P850-1238. Transport Dont know if that helps , Probably a synthetic enamel.

... it was polyurethane? Most coach paint (tekaloid and the like) is synthetic coach enamel. This is quite accommodating for different primers - I use aerosol grey primer from Toolstation which goes on well, is easy to paint over and cheap!
