New clutch abutment circlip (06-0752)?

Forums
Dear all, is it received wisdom to change the clutch abutment circlip (06-0752) because of the possibility of failure, as indicated below? "The factory torque setting for this nut is 70 ft. lb., however this torque setting runs the risk of breaking the clutch locating circlip (06-0752). It is recommended that you use locktight on this nut and torque to 35 or 40 ft. lb." Thanks   Roger

Short and sweet. Just the job. Thanks Peter. I'll order one c/w fitting tool now. Roger

Sounds like a good idea. Presumably this circlip supports the recessed spacer 06.0747 a little better - is that the thinking?

Yes indeed, it's tighter on the shaft, a little thicker (hence the need to file) and has a flatter face that prevents the clutch spacer from rocking as much.

I've done a few like this now, and am pleased.
