Dear all, is it received wisdom to change the clutch abutment circlip (06-0752) because of the possibility of failure, as indicated below?
"The factory torque setting for this nut is 70 ft. lb., however this torque setting runs the risk of breaking the clutch locating circlip (06-0752). It is recommended that you use locktight on this nut and torque to 35 or 40 ft. lb."
Thanks Roger
Yes it is.
Short and sweet. Just the job. Thanks Peter. I'll order one c/w fitting tool now. Roger

An idea…
You might consider the circlip used on the MK3 anti-backfire assembly. 06.8072 It needs a light lick with a file to fit in the groove, but is far more robust and gives significantly less clutch basket wobble.

Sounds like a good idea…
Sounds like a good idea. Presumably this circlip supports the recessed spacer 06.0747 a little better - is that the thinking?
