Can anyone tell me what to expect to see with the engine running, rocker covers off. I have oil being thrown from one rocker only - oil feed at top of rocker, the other three show a small dribble. I would have expected all to throw oil, how would the valve get lubricated for example. Also if I disconect the oil feed pipe at the banjo pair, there is a steady flow but of course not much presure as vented to tank. This is after a rebuild so not sure what to expect. Oil pump has been lapped but may still be work out.
Thanks
Andrew
Thanks Philip, encouraging…
Thanks Philip, encouraging as I was a little dismayed by the lack of oil bubbling up through the rocker.

If you are getting some oil out of each rocker when the engine is not too hot then that is good enough. Once the engine and oil is hot then the flow will be much stronger and start washing over the valve ends. The valves actually only need a mist of oil to lubricate their stems. Again this will happen once the engine has been running and the 'bellows' effect of the pistons pushes oil-filled vapour into the head via the rear drain hole and pushrod tunnels.
