Is there a good electronic ignition conversion for a 1961 Navigator?

Electronic Kit for your Navi
Contact Al Oz (Osborn) - details on rear page of Roadholder - for the full info on converting your Navi to Electronic Ignition - and he can supply all the bits you need.
Provided your alternator is good, you can keep it - it will do 12v easily.
You keep your 6v coils, as the Boyer fires them together in series.
You no longer need a rectifier, as you add a regulator/rectifier.
You will need to change your bulbs, battery & horn.
A couple of small wiring mods need to be made - Al will guide you through them.
The benefits are easier starting, maintainance free ignition, literally fit & forget and best of all, brighter lights. You can use all the latest LED bulbs as well (which you cannot do on the standard 6v electrics - as you will boil the battery).
Enjoy

What 'proper' Norton
Needs an MOT nowadays, so where would it get picked up? Personally I feel that the police have better things to do than see if your bulbs are filament, LED or HID (who mentioned HID?) unless you have them so badly adjusted that they are blinding. Of course, should you be stopped for speeding, riding like an idiot, being too noisy or some other reason then they may (only may) add it on the offences committed list, but personally I doubt that it would be noticed unless it was, as said, blinding.
Me? I shall carry on using my Norton with an LED bulb in the headlight without worrying about it.
Regards,George.

MoT Exempt?
The law about not using LEDs or HID conversions in vehicles only applies if you take it for an MoT. If your vehicle is MoT exempt then you do not need to get one!
