Thanks for reply Nick i did ring Norvil but the chap said he didnt know but I may buy one and take a punt. I am trying to build this later engine as I have lots of bits including a new reground crank assy to put in my early model navigator which needs a new set of crankcases,I have been running it for several years but crank case is badly cracked in several places and leaks badly so will try and build this later one so i can still use the old one and then swope engines maybe next year. Thanks dan will try it, I have all the bits to build the gearbox except the spring and plunger. Dan can I ask do you know if measuring the hole centres on the con rod at 4 and 5/16 (per history article) is the best way to id navigator conrods as apposed to jubilee ones, I have a good set but dont know for sure if they are navi except that the hole centres do measure correct. You will need to phone, explain what you are after and then write giving the part numbers so they can search through their warehouse. They only accept payment by cheque so a wonderfully old fashioned set up! For all of that I was amazed by how quickly and efficiently they turned my order round. Good luck with the rebuild - in my experience the later gearbox is far better.

I have found out through these helpfull messages that the early frame needs amending to take the later engine and that you have done this on a bike any help or advise would be much appreciated thanks Keith

I bought a frame section from the club spares (they are still in stock for £15!) You will also need the longer engine mounting studs and shouldered nuts, although I think I just used washers!
