Is my gearbox correct for 1955 88

My box is stamped N10157 would send a photo but Molly is watching Peppa Pig on my phone.

HELLO NO THIS GEARBOX IS An AMC mark 1 You should have the Laydown gear-box for 1955 models these gearboxes were designed by Stirumley-Archer gearboxes and late on Burman gearboxes bought them out but continued to make the same gearbox designs some know the lay down box has the Norton gearbox Burman gear box have the selector plate at the rear of the gearboxwas Nortonhas these at the front of the gearbox , happy yours anna j

Would that suit a '57 ES2? I currently have a laydown box fitted s/no starting GB8 which I don't think is correct for this year?

So Will this box work as was fitted to the bike when i took over the bike in 2001, but i have never had the bike running been stripped since 2002,

hello the thing is hear you not told us what model your Nortonis yet .in any case the laydown box went into the singles and twins both model 7 and model-88 for 1955 year so a laydown box is a good start now good luck with it all yours anna j
