Dear Members,
I have just read a letter in today's Sunday Telegraph that states classic cars manufactured before 1978 are to be MoT exempt from May next year. I assume that this date change will also apply to our motorbikes?

Several websites now report that from May 2018 the same rolling 40-year rule applied to VED ("Road Tax")will nowapply to the motorcycle MOT. The Carole Nash website is very clear on this new ruling and being a major bike insurance company I would expect their report on thisnew MOT regulation to be correct. Assuming it is ,thenafter May next year all pre-1978 bikes will be exempt from the annual MOT. Good news for mostNOC members !

Too true..the end is nigh.
Yes the Govt has got it wrong again. First we all need diesel to save the planet yet now they too toxic? Logic there somewhere?
Electric vehicles are the buzz word. Conventionall engines will be dead within 20 years? Oh yes, and where do we get the electricity to power them? Green taxes have already cut supply to an extent we only just scrape though bad winters without cuts. How can we exact more energy without impscting on the proverbial carbon footprint?
There is insufficient investment to make it work and currently the running time/distance means most pure electric vehicles are toytown cars.
Oh and have you looked at depreciation? The Leaf and Zoe lose circa 80% in 3 years. Its all good news..but do we believe it? Again and again..
