I have just fitted a new clutch lever, cable and clutch plates to my lever operated AMC clutch and want to find the sweet spot for light clutch operation without clutch slip. With the primary chaincase removed, spark plugs removed with the rear wheel chocked, I put a torque wrench on the end of the crank to measure the torque required to slip the clutch. For light clutch operation the clutch slips at 30N/Mtr. When I tighten the (new) clutch springs up clutch slips at 40N/Mtr. My general question is how does this compare to other AMC clutches and what are torque settings for a reliable clutch. I have a lightweight navigator so not too much power there.
