I see there’s a couple of comments in “parts commissioning” forum (sorry but don’t seem to be able comment there) for lightweight gear levers. If it helps, I bought mine from “Classic Bike Shop” via eBay @ £25.95 in May this year (listed under 04-0632, 04-1311, 06-1499 Norton & Amc Gear Lever), seems to fit perfectly, 5 inches long and sufficient offset to clear the gearbox casing.

Gear lever for lightweights
Hi Bruce,
I don't know if this is the same part as you ordered. Same supplier I believe but they describe it as 9/16" spline and 7" long. This is the maximum length from the tip of the pedal to the back corner of the lever. So probably 5" from spindle to pedal.
No wonder we all get confused.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Peter - yes, that’s the…
Hi Peter - yes, that’s the one, definitely 5” from spline centre to front of pedal. Fitted straight away except changed the pinch bolt to something better! This is fitted to a later gearbox “type” though (1965 Jubilee).

Geal Lever - Lightweight
Hi Bruce/Peter,
That gear lever fits - its the one for the Commando, but is bent out a bit more to go around the 'fatter' timing case.
The 'normal' one sits closer to the timing case - see my picture below - sorry about the focus, it wanted to show you the gravel instead....
