A happy battery is a fullycharged battery that stays fully but not overcharged, each discharge/charge cycle reduces its life.

Empirically, no. A bike with a high output generator will match the load pretty much all the time, so no high charge/discharge occurs. Modern bikes which fit this category don't seem to go through batteries any faster as a result. Nor doesmy Atlas which has a decent alternator. I have fitted LED stop/tail lights to my bikes with dynamos, mainly to stop the headlight dimming whenever I apply the brakes. I have yet tonotice any reduction in battery life.
If you want to have a high discharge/charge cycle, fit an electric starter!
