Can I canvas opinion on how your kickstart action operates? I have a current issue with mine and want to confirm I’m not looking at a problem that doesn’t exist.
When you operate you kickstart does it drag the rear wheel around at all, thus making the action stiffer and not allowing a proper full swing through?
Does anyone else experience the same issue?

Yes the layshaft 4th shoulder is against the layshaft bearing.
I was just after seeing if anyone else sees the same issue when you apply pressure to the K/S it binds the rear wheel.
Doesn’t seem right to me?

I am not sure if the rear wheel on my 650SS moves will check and revert. But I do have to always free the clutch before I start the engine, clutch lever in first kick a bit tight second gets better third completly free, clutch lever out and fourth kick and away (hopefully)

Logic would say that despite being in neutral . you are getting some gear engagement ,possibly only partial . Not something I have experienced, As i have earlier mentioned it is possible to put the 4th layshaft gear (top) in back to front , and some manuals show it that way !! .
