In order to protect the tank in the damp space that’s my garage I have been closing off the cap breather hole by sliding a tiny fridge magnet over it .The magnet lives on the cap and is almost invisible. I was not sure how effective it was untill today when i forgot it and conked out after half a mile . It works !!.
