Today´s task was fitting the sludge trap plugs into the Jubilee´s crankshaft.
I cleaned out the sludge trap and startet to screw in the new plugs from the NOC.
I had to use this tool, a ground down srewdriver blade from my tool box with some extensions.
I virtually put a new thread on the plugs made of aluminium turning them in and out again with force then cleaning the threads and so on. I had to grind the slit for the screwdriver in the plug to get it deeper. They have a very tight fit in the crankshaft now.
Next was heating the inner races for the bearings they fell on the shaft without any force.
You can see the butchered plug but it is firm in its seat .
I filed it down so the race sits on its shoulder.
