While discussing barrel clamp plates on another thread we got talking about head steady brackets. I was able to take a good look at mine while taking photos for the thread and discovered that it is cracked in two places. I've obviously tightened it up too much in the past and it has cracked from both sides. The vertical arms are slightly bent inwards. Where needed, it obviously should have spacers fitted to solve the problem. Please be aware all!
