Jubilee engine parts

Forums

HI, picked up a jubilee in boxes at the weekend and i am trying to workout what is missing for the engine. I have assembled the engine to what i can see and make out in the manual but missing a few components for gearbox(later type). In the photos i have attached below,  image 1594, is that the index plunger for gear box (item number 24 in parts list) and that i am missing the parts marked with the red arrows.  image 1597 what is this part?

image 1593 shows where i have set the timing does this look correct?

much help would be very appreciated with advice and where to source these parts.

Hi James,

The image 1594 is the correct plunger for the gearchange cam. The image of item 24 in the gearbox drawing is incorrect. The point is chisel not cone.

Image 1597 is the kick start pawl. Underneath it and not shown on the gearbox drawing is a small plunger and a spring underneath the plunger. Pushes item 37 lightly outwards.

Image 1593 shows correct alignment of the timing gears, with the crankshaft keyway at top and aligned with mark on intermediate pinion.

Item 26, part 040036, on the gearbox drawing is available from the Norton Owners Club spares scheme. Are you sure it's not screwed into your crankcase?

Item 34, part 24513, is shown wrongly orientated on your drawing, smaller outside diameter goes into the spring coils.

040442 Spring, cam drum plunger. Item 25 on gearbox drawing.

045206 Kickstart pawl plunger

045209 Kickstart pawl plunger spring

On your search for the missing parts it is much quicker to use the search facility on sites such as Norvil, NOC Shop, RGM etc with correct part numbers. You needs a parts book.

I think you will find most of what you want. If you get stuck on 24513 contact me through the website. Click on my name with this post.

Good luck

Peter
