With the bike on the stand, I can flick the gear lever & it returns to the middle with no problems. But out on the road, the pedal jams at the end of its travel, and has to be pushed back to the centre.
Its not my bike (Slimline 600 Domi) - sorting it for a mate. I took the cover off to investigate, and I discovered the Pawl Carrier/gearchange shaft is rubbing on the Spring holding block - see pics.
There is no play in the gearchange bush that would cause this. Similarly, the is no movement on the spring holding block.
Ideas anyone? (Full size version attached as well).

I would order replacement change springs from a Norton stockist. Pattern springs can be poor. Check the assembly against the manual ,missing or missplaced washer?.
