So, having had a binding problem with my front brake in the end I decided to bite the bullet and buy & fit the RGM master cylinder upgrade. Doing the machining tested the capabilities of my little set up but I got there in the end.
Being the lucky owner of two original master cylinders I thought it would be interesting to do some (subjective) back-to-back testing to compare the standard and upgraded versions. I gave the standard MC a full service, fitted it to my bike and went for a ride. On my return I swapped the MC for the upgraded one and repeated the ride. I had often read about the wooden feel of the original MC, and the benefit of the upgrade, but there is nothing like having the opportunity to find out for yourself. The result? - Chalk and Cheese! Ultimate braking power is probably unchanged but the difference in feel is Night and Day!!
