The TV news here didn't mention London but said there were major problems with blocked roads (M62) in Yorkshire and Scotland and even way down south in Devon/Cornwall. The lying snow here isn't all that deep -maybe 15cm but the authorities don't do any clearance on the country roads; I might have to trade in my Navigator for a big 4-wheel drive Massey Ferguson or John Deere.! A farmer has just said to me "it's a grand morning" ; at least it is plus 1 deg and not snowing.

Yep, we had deep snow here in rural Devon, and the local roads are not gritted or cleared either, rain today means we could get to the shops in the Rav 4.
I took the 77 IT 400 out for a spin in the snow, but sadly the petrol tap sprung a leak so that was short lived!
Back in front of the wood burner now

It is the meteorological (what the weather forecasters claim) first day of Spring, but the true first day of (astronomical) Spring is not until the 20th March this year when the Spring Equinox happens.
It is though bloody cold.......... brrrrr.
