Hi All
I have a 1960 dominator 99 and can not find an adequate petrol tap with a reserve faculty.
My tank underneath has a downward facing tap fitment which is about an inch and a half in length.
When fitting a tap that has a reserve faculty on the pipe that sits inside the tap filter only sits 15mm into the tank, so this only leaves me about 2ltr of reserve fuel.
What I am looking for is a tap with a longer tube so it sits further up into the tank that would leave more fuel for reserve. (this tank only has 1 tap fitment).
Can anyone give me some advice on this
Range circa 30 miles

Look up Roadholder 395, Nov2020
Hi Tony,
Like you, I wanted a reserve tap on my Dommi.
My 'solution' was an Indian made tap from Hitchcock motorcycles and some odd plumbing bits and model makers tubing.
If you look up the Nov 2020 Roadholder, page 8, or search for 'fuel tap' on the forum, 2nd article down titled Fuel Tap - both show what I did. (Forum entry BAP Tap - a fix, about 9 entries down has details)
Regards,
George

Two litres is not unreasonable is it? Or are you not in the uk?? Sounds like the tap is standard. If you are needing a better reserve range why not extend the tube up slightly. Scrape it clean and solder on a tube or roll yourself one to fit The gauze may not fit over but just pop an in line fuel filter in. At least you will be able to see if there is any sediment in your fuel.
Take it up 3/8” (10mm) and you are up more than a litre extra.
Cheers
