Just decoked bike to get compression back. Now all good and starts first kick cold or hot. Problem is it surges mildly at cruising speed of 60/70 .Bike has done 71000 from new (all by me) and has never manifested itself as such before. Any suggestions welcome. Bike is rideable but surging is annoying. Still did 252 miles last time out no probs.
Many thanks
Bill

Surging at small throttle openings would suggest it's running a bit weak. Have you had the carbs apart? If not and it's been standing, worth stripping the carbs, cleaning the jets and checking they all match the manual.
My Fortran dates from 50 years ago on ICL 1900 :)
