morning all,
Can anyone tell me what tests I can perform on my pvl 6v coils to ensure they are ok? Currently trying to troubleshoot dodgy spark from plugs.

A resistance test will give you a good idea if anything is wrong, but a swap is probably more reliable so long as it is known to work, not one from the bottom of that box of parts you think you might need one day! As it’s a twin, swap them over and see if the problem moves with the coil. If it’s on both then you are either very unlucky or it’s not the coils. There’s also voltage to the coils, points and condensers to think about.

Testing with meters will not show all faults. Testing by substitution is better, I usually test by allowing the coils to reach a running temperature and flick the points for some time and look for a good regular strong blue spark at the plug .A basic test.
