Boyer or Pazon Jubilee

Forums

Thinking of converting the Jubilee to 12 volts. Whats your preference, Boyer or Pazon.

Thanks

John.

I think you need to re-phrase the question. You don't need to go electronic to go 12V. but overall electronic and 12V is the better system especially from the maintenance point of view. Only someone who has experience of both systems- Boyer or Pazon- mentioned could really do a comparison. I have an old Boyer/12V on the Standard Navigator and it has always been reliable .Have you now got the Jubilee up and running?

Yes at last, about 9.30 last night. Sounds OK but the engine is racing, throttle or carb adjustment should sort that.

You need a special ignition plate for the Navigator, larger in diameter as for the Big Twins.

I got mine from Boyer, works good so far, I think Pazon makes them also.

I run a Boyer in my 1970 Commando with no problems since two years.

I also recently installed a Pazon in a 1968 Commando but the bike is not running yet.

The cables in the Pazon module going to the ignition plate are long enough to connect them directly without any connectors. The boyer cables aren?t. You need some extra cables, connectors etc.

The two systems are almost the same, Pazon needs less Volts to start.

Definitely Pazon,I fitted Boyer to a BSA B40. The first one didn't work at all,the second one retarded instead of advancing, the third one finally worked OK but only for about 6 months,it failed whilst I was riding the B40 in the Durham Dales trial. Boyers Technical Dept only takes calls between 4.00pm and 5.00pm which makes them difficult to contact ,the line is always busy.I fitted a Pazon which worked first time and up to now has worked OK for the last 2 years.
