Hi all.
I'm having a bit of a problem with my 1964 Atlas. I have a K2F magneto converted to a Thorspark EI. I bought the bike back in September last year. It came with the Thorspark fitted and has always been a sod to start/keep going.
The bike also just cut out once which turned out to be a blown fuse. Fuse replaced and all was hunky dory.
I'm not having any success starting it since the end of last year and yesterday and today I did a bit of analysis chasing voltages around the bike as well as checking that the wiring was correct.
However, I cannot get a spark. Additionally, when I kick start it, no spark and not even a sniff of the ammeter needle moving. If I put the light on, then the ammeter shows current being drawn.
The Thorspark is earthed (checked continuity between the mounting bolts and earth) and all the wires are going to the right places.
When I turn it over, (no fuel with spark plugs out of the cylinders to check for a spark) the fuse blows every time. Battery is showing 12.6v.
It looks like others have had a similar problem but I cant seem to find any solution.
Has anyone else had the same issue?
Kind regards
Tony
