Need some verification re the position of the throttle/slide valve position when viewed through manifold. The new pair l am fitting do not sit in the same place, ie, one is showinga slight gap between the valve and the curved bottom of the carb body while the other sits flush or a fraction below the bottom. This is without the cables being attached andthe needle is not being fouled by the jet in any way - ( removed needle to prove ). When compared side by side, the slide valve sides match in dimentions and no 'flashing' is apparent in the grove in the body of the carb. Anyone had a similar experience ? Andy Grimmett.

Is the throttle stop screwed-in further on one carb than it is on the other? This screw raises or lowers the slide when it is closed, and may account for the difference you are seeing.

Allan. Seems my reply did not send to site correctly. Slide would only move up and not down when screw adjusted. Removed screw and a small peice of white swarf fell out. Now working ok. Thankyou. Andy.

It's a good thing that you found that bit of swarf on the workbench rather than at speed somewhere, it doesn't hurt to give a new component a going over to make sure it is right.
