Does anyone have a picture of an original 1961/62 Chronometric Tacho bracket as fitted to a 1961/62 650SS. I have one on my bike and I dont think its the correct one, it is a dog legged bracketwith a central hole that looks to be in the correct positionfor a magnetic Tacho, the hole has been elongated to accept the chronometic offset drive position.

Hi Anna
Thanks for the response , the bracket is as you have described but because the tacho is a chronometric typethe drive is not central and the centre hole in the bracket has been elongated to allow for the offset drive.
Does this mean the bracket is correct and the tacho is not?

Hello Ben,
I thought a couple of photos of a Slimline rev-counter bracket would help you.
Now Iâve got to work out how to attach them.
Now, letâs see......
oops, have I left the micâ open....?

Ben,
The holes for the rev-counter studs (via the cupped washers and rubber cushions) are 5/8" diameter.

Thanks Paul
A picture tells a thousand words,
Your picture showsa 'waisted' bracket which allows for the offset drive connection as found on chronometric rev-counters.
It is now clear that my bracketwas meant for the later magnetic rev-counter as it has a central hole for the tacho drive, mine has been elongated to acceptachronometric rev-counter.
Anna Jeanette Dixon misled me somewhat bystating that if the bracket had 'the 1/4 inc holes for fixing bolts and a large hole in the middle for the tacho cable then its the right one for my bike' which is obviously not the case.
Once again thanks for your input.

Hello Ben, has it got two 1/4 inc holes for fixing bolts and a large hole in the middle for the tacho cable? And if it has two indentations for strength and fixes under the top nut of the fork stanchion then if the answer is yes then you have the right one for your bike
