Can someone who has a genuine 500T (1939) please let me know how far the silencer end is from the rear wheel on a low level exhaust.
I just got a new one and it seems to be rather a distance from the wheel. (using the wheel just as a fixed point)

Chris, The exhaust is as you state, I got the exhaust from feked. I had read Armours was not a good fit so went with this company. If there is a problem what is the answer.
Thanks Robert

I have now got the exhaust fitting sorted. The problem was not the exhaust, it was a bad repair job on the footrest that held the pipe out.
It only took 2 hours to see it and 5 mins to fix.
So Feked exhaust fits good.

Robert,
Before I go digging out pictures, I need better to understand the question.
What do you mean by low level exhaust? The 500T had a conventional-ish exhaust pipe as in common with some other Norton singles, the pipe misses the crankcase by just a few mm. On the 500T it was then a close fit to the r.h.s. footrest. The pipe is attached to a silencer that kicked up at quite an angle. If your example is non-standard in that respect, then I can't help.
If Armours are in any way involved, I can provide chapter and verse from (bitter) experience.
