Hi again everyone I am hoping a member can help me out here I am looking to purchase a set (2) front crash bars for my 1975 Mk3 850 E/S Commando can anyone help in locating a set or even has for sale or can put me in touch with someone who could possibly help, I hope I have put this in the correct forum if not I am sure admin will let me know any replies please PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I get it many thanks Chris

I came to same conclusion as…
I came to same conclusion as Ian, the footrests do a far better job and can be bent back easily. The NOC notes also have a footpeg design that makes it easily replaceable if it breaks off. The frame is made from standard mild steel tubing, the strength is all in the massive top tube, the downtubes are only 1" diameter and collapse when mounts for front mounted pegs are bolted on, seen a lot on US imports, will do the same with crashbars when bolted on.

... crash bars are not rexommended especially on the relatively light Commando down tubes as in the event of a spill they can distort said down tubes. But your choice of course.
